SilaCities was born from frustration with the state of urban planning. Our founders - urban planners who spent years working on major city projects - kept running into the same problem: by the time traditional data was collected and analyzed, the city had already changed.

In 2018, we spun out from our parent company Sila Insights, bringing with us years of experience in social analytics and a bold vision: to build the world's first real-time urban intelligence platform.

We started with a focus on the Middle East, a region experiencing unprecedented urban transformation. Major cities in the region were growing at extraordinary rates, yet being planned with tools designed for slower, incremental change.

Our breakthrough came with developing Arabic-native AI that could understand the nuances, dialects, and cultural context of social expressions across the region. This wasn't just translation - it was true understanding.

Today, we serve 15+ major cities worldwide, processing over 500 million data points to help governments, developers, and planners make smarter decisions.
