Urban Intelligence Advisor
A strategic, relationship-driven advisory role for someone who understands how cities work, how planners think, and how to translate complex data outputs into decisions that matter.
What the work looks like.
You will be the bridge between SilaCities' platform capabilities and the real-world challenges our clients face. You will help clients ask the right questions, interpret what the data is telling them, and embed urban intelligence into the way their institutions operate.
We are looking for an Urban Intelligence Advisor who will own the success of our government and city clients, from onboarding through to sustained value delivery. This is not a technical role.
What You'll Do.
Client Advisory & Success
- Lead onboarding and ongoing engagement for government and city authority clients, ensuring they extract maximum value from the GUS platform.
- Develop deep understanding of each client's strategic priorities, institutional context, and decision-making processes.
- Translate platform outputs into policy-relevant narratives, briefings, and recommendations that resonate with senior government stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops, working sessions, and quarterly reviews that embed SilaCities intelligence into clients' planning and operational cycles.
- Act as the primary escalation point for client relationships, managing issues proactively and maintaining long-term trust.
Platform Adoption & Value Realisation
- Define success metrics with each client at the outset and track progress against agreed outcomes throughout the engagement.
- Identify underutilised platform features and develop tailored adoption plans to expand client engagement.
- Work closely with the product team to surface client needs that should inform platform development, acting as a structured feedback channel from the field.
- Support the development of case studies, impact assessments, and renewal materials that demonstrate measurable client outcomes.
Sector Expertise & Thought Leadership
- Serve as an internal and external expert on urban planning practice, helping clients and colleagues interpret data through a planning lens.
- Stay current on urban policy trends across the GCC and wider MENA region, identifying opportunities to make SilaCities intelligence more relevant.
- Contribute to the development of SilaCities' advisory methodology, playbooks, and client success frameworks.
- Represent SilaCities at government forums, industry events, and client-facing engagements where appropriate.
Who You Are.
Background & Experience
- Degree in urban planning, urban geography, urban studies, or a closely related discipline. Master's degree preferred.
- 5–10 years of professional experience, with a significant portion in a consulting or advisory environment where you have worked directly with government or public sector clients.
- Experience working in or advising city authorities, transport agencies, planning departments, or similar institutions, ideally in the GCC or MENA region.
- Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships at senior levels within government organisations.
- No requirement for GIS expertise or technical data skills. We are looking for someone who understands cities.
Skills & Approach
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to contextualise data insights within a planning, policy, or operational framework.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency is a meaningful advantage given our client base.
- Comfortable presenting to senior government officials and translating technical platform outputs into clear, decision-ready insights.
- Structured and organised, with the ability to manage multiple client engagements concurrently without losing quality or attention.
- Consultancy-trained instincts: you know how to structure a problem, build a story around data, and drive a client to a decision.
- Genuinely curious about cities. You follow urban planning debates, understand what good city-making looks like, and bring that perspective to everything you do.
