01About the role

What the work looks like.

You will support the Urban Intelligence Advisor in managing client engagements. Preparing briefings, organising outputs from the GUS platform into clear narratives, coordinating client communications, and helping develop the materials that make our clients successful. Over time, as you build your understanding of our platform and our clients, you will take on increasing responsibility for your own client relationships.

This is not a GIS or technical data role. We are looking for someone with planning instincts, good writing, and a genuine interest in how cities work.

02What You'll Do

What You'll Do.

Client Support & Coordination

  • Support the preparation of client briefings, presentations, and reports that translate platform outputs into planning-relevant insights.
  • Help coordinate client onboarding activities, including scheduling, materials preparation, and follow-up documentation.
  • Maintain client engagement trackers, action logs, and relationship notes to keep engagements organised and on track.
  • Assist in preparing for client workshops and working sessions, including background research, agenda preparation, and post-session summaries.

Platform & Content

  • Learn the GUS platform thoroughly and develop the ability to navigate outputs confidently in a client-facing context.
  • Support the production of use-case materials, adoption guides, and sector-specific content that helps clients get more from the platform.
  • Conduct desk research on urban planning trends, government priorities, and city-level challenges relevant to our client engagements.
  • Help build out SilaCities' library of case studies and client impact materials over time.

Internal Contribution

  • Work closely with the product and delivery teams to understand platform capabilities and communicate client feedback clearly.
  • Contribute to the development of the client success methodology as the team grows and formalises its approach.
  • Bring genuine intellectual curiosity to the work, reading widely on urban issues, asking good questions, and contributing ideas.
03Who you are

Who You Are.

Background

  • Degree in urban planning, urban geography, urban studies, or a closely related discipline, recently completed or within the last 2 to 3 years.
  • Some professional experience is a plus (internships, graduate roles, consultancy placements) but not a strict requirement for the right candidate.
  • Exposure to government or public sector environments through university projects, placements, or early career experience is valued.
  • No GIS or data engineering skills required or expected.

Skills & Approach

  • Clear and confident writer in English. You can take a complex data output and turn it into a readable, decision-relevant summary.
  • Organised and reliable, with strong attention to detail in everything from documents to emails to client materials.
  • Intellectually curious about cities: you follow urban planning debates, find city data interesting, and want to understand how governments make decisions.
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving, early-stage company environment where things are not always perfectly defined.
  • Arabic language skills are a genuine advantage given our client base in the GCC.

This is a real junior role with a clear growth path. Distinct from a graduate scheme or rotation programme. As SilaCities scales, there is a direct line from this position into a senior advisory role for someone who performs well. You will work closely with experienced advisors and government clients from day one, and be exposed to some of the most ambitious urban development programmes in the region.
